The First-Place Academic Bowl team from each Area will compete in the Citywide Finals. Each team may submit bowl questions to the citywide Academic Bowl coordinator. Each question must be on 4" x 6" index cards (with answers and sources) in each of the following categories: Art; Current Events (6/08 - 5/09); Language Arts/Reading; Math; Music; Science; and Social Studies. Questions must be from the 7th- and 8th-grade curricula. Send questions to

Each day will begin with the "Parade of Champions" ceremony. All contestants will march behind their Area banner with the Area Instruction Officer and AO Liaison.

1. Please be prompt. Late arrivals cause delays in the competitions.
2. All Areas' Semifinalists must attend to compete for the citywide title and must stay the whole day, 9:30 AM to the end of the day.
3. Make sure that a copy of your student's speech arts selection has been sent to the AO Citywide Committee. Bring an extra copy with you, in case of loss.
4. Lunch will be provided for the contestants only.
5. Adults and other students attending need to make their own meal arrangements.
6. Schools wishing to bring students, in addition to the contestants, are encouraged to do so, but need to inform the Citywide Coordinator to ensure space availability (553-2167).
7. PARKING - There is paid parking available on the east side of Halsted (about $10).
8. Keep up to date. Visit the AO website often.
